The Faculty of Geography adheres to the philosophy that "the foundation of virtue lies in education, and the foundation of education lies in teachers," regarding the construction of the faculty team as the fundamental guarantee for improving the quality of talent cultivation. The faculty is committed to deepening the reform of talent development systems and mechanisms, continuously improving talent service systems, strengthening the construction of professional ethics and style, and coordinating the construction of various types of talent teams. The development of the faculty team is becoming more rational in terms of age structure, academic structure, and disciplinary direction, showing a good trend of development. Currently, the faculty has a total of 116 full-time teachers, including 33 Professors and 31 Associate Professors (including 3 Associate Researchers), with senior titles accounting for 56% of the teaching staff; 75 teachers have a doctoral degree, accounting for 65% of the teaching staff. The faculty has 1 Changjiang Distinguished Professor from the Ministry of Education, 1 National "Ten Thousand Talents Plan" Teaching Master, 2 Yunnan Province "Ten Thousand Talents Plan" Teaching Masters, 2 New Century Excellent Talents from the Ministry of Education, 1 Yunnan Province Outstanding Contribution Excellent Professional Technical Talent who enjoys the government special allowance, and more than 20 people who are Yunnan Province Middle-aged and Young Academic and Technical Leaders, Yunnan Province Middle-aged and Young Technical Innovation Talents, Yunnan Province "Ten Thousand Talents Plan" Young Top Talents, etc.
