This major relies on Yunnan's unique high mountain canyons and modern glacier landscapes, volcanic geothermal and tropical rainforest resources, ethnic customs and border characteristics, as well as its unique geographical advantage adjacent to South Asia and Southeast Asia. It is oriented towards the national "Belt and Road" initiative and the construction needs of a "world-class healthy living destination." Based on the interdisciplinary advantages of "management + economics + geography," it focuses on cultivating high-level cultural and tourism talents engaged in international tourism cooperation and management, cross-border tourism development and operation, tourism creative planning and regional tourism planning, health and wellness tourism and health management. Graduates can continue their studies and pursue master's and doctoral degrees through the department's complete training system of "bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral," or work in administrative institutions such as cultural and tourism departments and vocational colleges, or engage in cultural and tourism planning, management, and service work in state-owned cultural and tourism groups, transnational cultural and tourism companies, emerging cultural and tourism industries, and private cultural and tourism enterprises.
